THE MYSTERIOUS MAN

It was a cloudy day I was at home alone, because my parents and my sisters had gone to the cinema. I was reading a book on my bed of my bedroom when suddenly, I heard the voice of a girl shouting with horror.
The night before, I had also heard that voice, but it was from a different girl. I don´t know why, but I thought that it didn´t matter. But this night I recognized this voice of that girl. She was Cathy, my neighbour and one of my friends!
“Andrea, help meee…!” Cathy shouted at the same time she was crying. By the time I was running to help her with a torch in my right hand, the man who was holding Cathy´s arm, started to run away and finally he got lost in the clouds.
After that scene, I ran towards her and hugged her. “Are you ok?” I asked worried. “Yes, thank you Andrea, you have saved me!” she answered while she was crying with happiness. “Who was he?” I asked. “I don´t know, but he said he will take me with the other girls! We must do something to help them!
I saw just the footsteps of mud of the man. Somehow the man had got his shoes dirty with the mud. “Let´s have a dangerous adventure!” I said terrified. We began to follow the man´s footsteps. At last, we had arrived at the marsh, which was near my house. Then, we tried to continue along the path jumping and crossing above the marsh. Because of this, I had got my shoes dirty, but luckily Cathy´s shoes had finished clean.
Immediately, we saw and old house. After a long time, we arrived. We were entering the house when suddenly I saw a strange door, we came into this room. There were a lot of young girls terrified and horrified talking. I was getting back home running to call the police quickly while Cathy was looking after those girls.
In the end, the police came, four men found and caught the mysterious man because of Cathy and me. The police thanked us and they said that we had been very brave. But then I got home and my mother punished me, because I had left home without permission.
The next morning I went to buy the newspaper in the centre of the village and a lot of people were surrounding the news-stand. These people were very happy because of the cover´s news:
INCREIBLE ADVERT

AN ADVENTURE STORY

It was a beautiful day in summer and it was sunny. The day before, my cousin Juan Carlos, my friend Dani and I had decided to go on an excursion to the countryside by bike. We had arranged to meet up at nine o’clock in the morning at the park of the village. I arrived a bit late, but when I arrived, we all took our bicycles and we went to the countryside.

We got everything ready and set off. We did a lot of kilometres during four hours, by the time, it was one o’ clock and, actually, we wanted to eat something and we stopped the journey to eat in a comfortable place, under the trees, we stayed eating 30 minutes. Then, my cousin finished eating and said, “look, there is a fascinating sight, there”, he said pointing a small hill, “I will come back in 15 minutes” and he got away. Later, 15 minutes passed, and my cousin hasn’t still returned. Dani and me decided to look for him. Just then, we found his bicycle and his bicycle’s helmet.

We continue looking for him and suddenly, I told Dani to call the emergency services. Luckily, I had my mobile phone and I could phone them. Just minutes after, Dani and me heard a cry from some bushes, it was my cousin, that told us that the hill was too high to climb it by bike, he did on foot and he arrived to the peak, he went back and while he was going down, he hit with a rock and he was on the ground because he had an injury in the leg. Meanwhile my cousin was telling the story, the emergency services arrived and took him to the hospital.

In the end, he stayed in the hospital two days and inmediately, he recovered. At last, our parents came to collect us and we went happy to our houses. END.

Malta is a small country in the south of Italy.
The aim of this report is to make the people open their eyes and see that, although Malta is country a bit dirty, you can see some positive things like, there are beautiful old buildings, it isn´t frequent to be in traffic jams and you can find a lot of excellent restaurants, too.

There are several things tourists will find attractive like the old buildings, they are very beautiful and some of them were built more than 80 years ago. In addition, the furniture inside of them is old and classical.
You can be relaxed and safe on the streets of Malta, because there aren´t frequent thefts. But if someone wants to steal something from you, wherever you go there is a police officer next to you. Also, you can go to the centre of Malta, and you will find, an the one hand, a lot shops of whatever you want, and, on the other hand, a lot of tourists entering in museums, libraries, and in phone boxes, but there are still two or three.
On the motorways there are no problems with the traffic, because there are a lot of useful traffic lights.

However, tourists might find some things disappointing like the streets. The streets were built very badly and when you go by car or by bus you´re always jumping on the seat because of the pieces of cement accumulated on the street.
You can find a lot of rubbish on the beach plus some jellyfishes in the sea.
Some people are sleepy as well as, rude, but most of the people in Malta are polite. And people are very strict with the rules of how old you have to be to enter in the cinema and see and film.
   Buses usually are expensive.

http://www.winterspells.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/red-phone-box.jpg   To sum up, this country is small and dirty, but it has beautiful sights and it has a lot of tourism. The council needs to do something to build again better the streets. They should clean the beaches, too.

Subject:  My opinion of Madrid

Madrid is the capital of Spain. I like it very much, but it isn’t perfect. The aim of this report is to make the people see that a fabulous city could be the worst place to live.

Madrid is a fabulous city because:

  • It’s a big and safe city.
  • It has concerts of all kinds of music plus much night life.
  • It has international restaurants, for all tastes and pockets.
  • In addition Madrid’s leisure is for all kind of people.
  • The Madrid city centre is extortionate, but pleasant too.
  • The advantage of the public transport is that it goes to many places and is used by commuters and students. No wonder that it’s crowded, because it picks up all the passengers of the long-distance trains.
  • Madrid has everything except the sea.

   However all isn’t good:

  • Madrid is always in roadworks
  • There is a lot of traffic and it produces a lot of noise. This noise affects the people (producing headaches, stress…).
  • Due to the traffic, there are traffic jams, but there aren’t accidents.
  • Madrid is one of the most polluted cities of Spain, although it’s not only produced by the traffic, there are many factories which produce fumes.
  • All the streets in Madrid are overcrowded with pedestrians also all the shops and restaurants.
  • The public transport is expensive, like the accommodation.
  • The public transport isn’t useful in the airports; here the cabs are used by all the passengers who carry baggage because they couldn’t do anything to avoid the fare.

To sum up, on one hand Madrid is a city crowded of leisure and cultural places, but on the other hand it’s very expensive and damaged.
